SAUK VILLAGE (CBS)– Authorities issued a missing person alert for a 75-year-old south suburban woman last seen by her family on November 8th.

Marija Niksich — also known as Maria Dosen-Niksich — was last seen at her Sauk Village and could be on Chicago’s South Side, a missing person alert from the Will County Sheriff’s office said.

Police believe Niksich, who is delusional and suffers from dementia, could be in Chicago because of her ties to Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2864 E. 92nd St.

Before she went missing, Niksich was heard saying she wanted to be with her fellow Croatian people at East 96th and South Commercial in the South Deering neighborhood, according to the alert.

A Sacred Heart priest told authorities that a group of parishioners believe they saw her at a Walgreens’ and a McDonald’s in the area.

Niksich, who doesn’t have credit cards of cash to support herself, is also known to take walks in Sauk village from her home to a business district near Sauk Trail and Torrence Avenue.

She was last seen wearing a hot pink windbreaker, blue jeans and pink sneakers, the alert said.
